It is my honor to share with everyone that Michael will receive full Military Honors and be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery on the 21st of Feb at 1:00pm.
Please arrive at the Arlington Administration building by 12:00 in order to get through security. Anyone over the age of 16 will require a photo ID

Command Sergeant Major Michael A. Ferrusi is a native of Niagara Falls; New York. He entered the Military into the Infantry in February of 1987 at Ft Benning, Georgia.

After attending Basic Training, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi’s first operational assignment was in 1987 to the 1-509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Joint Readiness Training Center, Ft Chaffee Arkansas. During this assignment, he served as Rifleman, Saw Gunner, Machine Gunner, RTO, Rifle Team and Squad Leader, and Recon Squad Leader.

In 1996, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning GA, where he served as a RSOV Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. In 2001, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi moved to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as the Assistant Operations Sergeant and Liaison Operations NCO. During this assignment, he participated in combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In April 2002, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was re-assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as the Intelligence Operations Sergeant and then First Sergeant for Charlie Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company. During these assignments, he participated in combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In July of 2005, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi attended and graduated from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Following his assignment to the Academy, in 2006 Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to the Asymmetric Warfare Group at Ft Meade, Maryland. During his assignment with the AWG, he was the first Group Operations Sergeant Major and the First Command Sergeant Major of Accessions and Selection.

In August of 2007, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to 1-11th IN, 199th IN BDE, FT Benning Georgia, In November of 2009 Command Sergeant Major was assigned to 2-503rd, ABN IN, “The Rock”, 173rd BCT (ABN). During this assignment, he deployed twice for combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom. In May 2013, CSM Ferrusi was selected as the interim 173rd BCT (ABN) BDE CSM until April 2014.

In April of 2014, CSM Ferrusi was assigned as the 3RD BDE, 10TH Mountain Division Command Sergeant Major. He deployed the Brigade to Afghanistan in July15 as the TAAC-E CSM, Train, Advise, Assist East (Formerly RC East). In April of 2016 CSM Ferrusi became the United States Army Alaska, (USARAK) Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Michael A. Ferrusi took the position of senior-enlisted advisor of the 82nd Airborne Division in October, 2017.

Following the 82nd, Mike became an Ops manager for Amazon in Phoenix, Arizona.

Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi is a graduate of the Individual Infantry Basic Training Course, Basic Airborne School, Ranger School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Long Range Reconnaissance Course, Jumpmaster, SERE, numerous Marine and Naval Warfare Operations Schools, and has attended all levels of NCOES. CSM Ferrusi has earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, and was awarded the Order of St. Maurice; Centurion. He is currently enrolled in Trident University in his final class for earning his Bachelor of Science Business.
